Garrigill offers excellent B&B accommodation within easy walking distance of the studio.  Alston and the surround has some lovely choices of hotel and country house accommodation.  These will require a car but are still only a 10-15 minute drive from the studio.

Garrigill Bridge View B&B. A small friendly B&B just a few doors down from the studio, run by Mrs Margaret Rzas. One room sleeping up to three people and a private bathroom. Another small and welcoming B&B just two doors down from the studio and run by Lana and Richard Dixie. Eastview has two rooms available, one double and one twin, which share a guest bathroom. The guest accommodation comprises of 9 en-suite bedrooms, each with tea and coffee making facilities and colour televisions. AA 4 star rating. You will also find examples of Lionel Playford’s work ondisplay. Originally built in 1738 by a local mine owner and extended many times during its life it now provides luxury 4 star accommodation set in extensive gardens. Evening meals available. Normal prices start at £69 per person per night for a double including breakfast but we have arranged a 10% discount for anyone who has already booked on a Pennine Painting course. We particularly recommend South Loaning for its hospitality and lovely situation: South Loaning Apartment, Alston South Loaning Apartment occupies the top floor of a Georgian house on the edge of Alston. The house is built into the hillside, and the front door for the apartment is at 1st floor level. There is an entrance hall and downstairs loo, and then a flight of stairs to the apartment itself.
