Rose House Studio

Rose House Studio is a purpose built artists studio situated in the heart of the tranquil village of Garrigill.  The studio faces onto the village green and from the back there are views over Rotherhope Fell one of the North Pennine moors below Cross Fell.

Built in 2007 the studio is attached to Rose House, a traditional 19th century stone built cottage and now our family home.  Starting from scratch meant we were able to create a large, light  and airy space and make the most of the stunning views from the studio windows.  Underfloor heating also ensures that the studio will be a comfortable space in which you can work whatever the weather is up to outside.

The studio also opens into the garden and patio which provides a secluded spot from which students may work.

In addition to the teaching space there is an office area containing a library of art books which students are welcome to use. There is also a new computer to access the internet or to look at Lionel’s library of images. You can load photos from your digital camera, alter them in Photoshop and print them on A4 if you wish (we can help!).

Adjacent to the office is a small gallery area where Lionel’s work is displayed.

You can park at the front of the house and studio if you are not staying in the village and it’s just a short stroll over the green to the village pub and post office.
